Art and Soul Retreat in Portland, Or.

It has been a while since our last post. I am not sure if anyone else has had a problem signing into the Yahoo Group but it seems to be down now.
We will attempt to keep you up to date on future Guild activities.
I have had a couple of questions and e-mails regarding people interested in meeting or getting together locally for claying so will try to keep you up to date on that.
In the meantime if anyone is interested here is news on a fairly local retreat.

Just a heads up that Art and Soul will once again be in Portland, Or Feb.29 - March 6, 2016. Laurie Mika will do four classes and Leslie Blackford and Wendy Malinow team up for their Garden of Earthly delights workshop.

New Cascadia Facebook Page

FYI I have recently received an e-mail from Paula Beltgens of the Vancouver Island Guild regarding a new  group on Facebook. If you are a Facebook member and live within the Cascadia area please check it out.

“In response to several requests to have an avenue for sharing information about resources and collaborating on events and workshops along the Pacific Northwest (US & Canada), there is now a Cascadia Polymer Clay Meet-Up Facebook Group for enthusiasts in BC, Washington and Oregon. If you’re interested, please go to this link and click on Join. Once you are a member of the Cascadia Group, you can invite and approve other members as well.”

Upate of Guild News

Just to keep our members informed of what is happening with our Guild lately I have to inform you that it has been decided to shut the Guild down in its present form. We will no longer be having monthly meetings at Nancy’s clubhouse. For many reasons there has been a lack of interest by  members to attend monthly meetings. The work of planning demos and a meeting agenda is too time consuming to have only six or eight regulars show up. There is also the cost of our meeting space and coffee and munchies provided by the same volunteers on a regular basis.

Our Yahoo online sites will remain  and members will be kept informed of any upcoming events.  I am not sure what will be happening with our Facebook page  as Nancy is also in charge of that.

Our Blog will be here and kept up to date as required by myself and/or Joan Tayler, so please check back regularly and  comments are always appreciated.

I was at Joan’s studio yesterday and it was such a delight to see and touch her beautiful series of new bowls which have been featured on her Blog and her Facebook page
